There is a plot to destroy the American republic, according to John Birch Society (JBS) researcher and author Christian Gomez. JBS is an organization fighting against tyranny for over six decades. Just recently, it issued a warning about Article V and Constitutional Convention (ConCon).
Gomez told InfoWars founder Alex Jones that those behind the plot are doing it by putting in power people who can be easily manipulated to do their bidding. “They don’t know the Constitution and they’re expected to rule on matters that are put into the Constitution. This is a recipe for disaster, and it is intentional,” Gomez said.
Jones agreed, noting that the Left is putting completely ignorant people in government positions. He then asked Gomez to expound on Article V and ConCon.
The JBS researcher said Article V is the amendment article of the Constitution, which explains the procedure for how the Constitution can be amended or changed. Gomez added that there are two methods to amend the Constitution, according to Article V.
The first method is when two-thirds of the House of Representatives and two-thirds of the U.S. Senate propose the amendment, pass it, then go to the states and three-fourths of the states ratify it. (Related: Texas calls for a convention of states to amend the U.S. Constitution… can the Republic be saved before it collapses?)
The second method, which has never been used, is when Congress calls the Convention on the application of two-thirds of the states, or 34 out of 52 states. Congress then calls the Convention where delegates, who represent the sovereign will of the people at large, propose amendments to the Constitution and continue with the Article V procedures of having three-fourths of the states ratify it.
Gomez warned that ConCon could present an opportunity for left-wing delegates to change the Constitution or add an amendment that guts the original text of the bill.
“So, one amendment can totally alter the Constitution hether it’s a few words in the Second Amendment saying something to the effect of ‘the right to bear arms shall not be infringed’ while serving in the National Guard or in the military. They can put a couple of words there and totally alter the meaning, or they can just gut whole amendments entirely and put new amendments that empower the federal government to do things that it currently doesn’t do,” Gomez explained.
According to Gomez, JBS members are testifying in front of committees to stop the passage of resolutions that apply to Congress for the convention and convincing state legislators to introduce resolutions to rescind calls for a constitutional convention.
Jones said globalist forces are always pushing for ConCon, and the American people need to enforce the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. “We don’t need to rewrite it or have new rules because we already have it. It’s not being enforced so enforce the laws that are there,” Jones said.
